Financial & Private Sector development Advisor —Development Bank of Ethiopia

Served as financial and private sector development advisor to the Development Bank of Ethiopia (DBE), supporting two flagship financing instruments.

    • Agricultural Mechanization Leasing Project (AMLP) — supported the design and rollout of a leasing facility to expand farmers’ and agribusinesses’ access to mechanization.

    • SME Credit Line (SME CL) — a private-sector credit line delivered through commercial banks, with DBE acting as the wholesale bank to channel funds to SME borrowers.

Supported policy reforms to improve the investment, financing and competitiveness landscape for the Ethiopian private sector, with a particular focus on SME owners and employees.

Avocado Oil Value Chain Feasibility Study

Conducted a technical and financial feasibility study of the avocado value chain, focused on organic avocado oil production within the Yirgalem Agro-Processing Industrial Park, using COMFAR-based investment feasibility analysis to inform the investment decision.

Building an Avocado and Sesame Value Chain — Strategic Alliance

Assessed the avocado and sesame value chains in view of export performance for organic avocado oil and roasted sesame, delivered through a public–private partnership between GIZ and Tradin.

SME Business Development & Trade Chamber System Development

Advisory and coaching support covering chamber system development, export matchmaking, quality infrastructure and enterprise-level quality management.

    • Chamber system development — advisory services to ECCSA on trade and industry chamber system development.

    • Export matchmaking — SME business development and export business matchmaking support.

    • Quality infrastructure — supported the Ethiopian Quality and Standards Authority in establishing the Ethiopian National Certification Body.

    • Enterprise coaching — consulted and coached SMEs in leather, textile and food processing on quality management, including ISO 9001:2008 auditor training.
